In July 2024 NULBC issued their final plan (Regulation 19 Plan) which outlines planning proposals for the Borough. Developments are still proposed for Red Street and the surrounding areas that will put significant strain on the village feel, the infrastructure, schools etc.
What happens next?
- The Local Plan is now in the final stages of consultation with members of the public
- Member of the public can submit comments/objections to the plan to the NULBC planning department. These should be received by the council by 5pm on the 7th October 2024
- The Local Plan and comments will then be allocated to an Independent Planning Inspector for review (timescale to be confirmed)
- The plan will then either be accepted or amended as per the advice of the Independent Planning Inspector.
What Can We Do?
We have identified potential areas for further opposition to the plan at Regulation 19 stage. It is important that we:
- Re-submit our Regulation 18 comments as part of our regulation 19 response so that these can be sent to the Independent Planning Inspector (The Regulation 18 responses/comments will not automatically be sent so we have to re-submit them as part of the Regulation 19 consultation)
- Include the new evidence we have collected which is available in our Documents section with your Regulation 19 objections
- Send your comments either in a letter, email or using the form provided to the Council offices via the following detail by 5pm 7th October 2024
